Description
A program for the 1939 California State Fair, claimed at the time to be the largest state fair in the country. It began on the same day that Nazi Germany invaded Poland and shared the front page of the Sacramento Bee with reports on the beginning of World War II. The 1939 California State Fair featured dance performances choreographed by Theatre Under the Stars choreographer Aida Broadbent and orchestra performances conducted by Louis Castellucci of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
