Description
Republican mural, Ballymurphy Rd., Ballymurphy, West Belfast, 2012. Dedicated to Pat (Beag) [Young] McGeown, 'Comrade, Councillor, Cara' [Friend]. Face painted on Irish tricolour, surrounded by emblems of the four provinces of Ireland - clockwise: Ulster, Leinster, Connacht, Munster. Pat McGeown spent 47 days on hunger strike during the 1981 Republican Hunger Strike; he died in 1996.
