Photograph of a group of eleven Hopi children at Mishongnovi (Mashongnavi), Arizona, ca.1898. Most of the children can be seen seated along a stone ledge with their backs against the adobe wall of a dwelling with exposed rough hewn rafter tails. They are seated just below a window. One child can be seen from behind standing in front of the seated children. Four of them are naked, while most of them have long straight hair.
