Lemoine Blanchard, left, took the play away from his son at the Los Angeles City Council Chambers Tuesday. The elder Blanchard was the surprised recipient of a council resolution honoring his 51 years as a Valley lumber merchant. The resolution was introduced by another Valley councilman, Everett G. Burkhalter, right. One of Blanchard's lumber yards, 5361 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood, is still in operation. A group of Blanchard's North Hollywood friends attended yesterday's meeting to congratulate him."
