Description
A skyward view of the California State Capitol building's west side on April 2, 1946 reveals a triangular pediment consisting of five allegorical figures, with a helmeted Minerva in the center. To the left of her are Education, with tablet and globe, and Industry, leaning on an anchor and plough. To the right of her are Justice, holding a tablet, and Mining, leaning on a pick and hammer. The figures were sculpted by Pietro Mezzara.
