Annotation translation: "Stamm 1931." - "Witches magic, not to be confused with what people usually call 'fetish'. The magical object is a something equipped with magical power after having been put through all sorts of processes with other substances and having spells spoken over it. It can be made of different substances. A fetish, however, is actually the altar of a deity, who mostly lives as a spirit outside the object and can only be forced to return to the object on specific occasions." Annotation: "Stamm 1931." - "Hexenzauber, nicht zu verwechseln mit dem, was man gewöhnlich Fetisch nennt. Der Zauber ist ein durch allerlei Mittel & Beschwörungsformeln mit magischen Kräften ausgestattetes Etwas, das von verschiedener Zusammensetzung sein kann, während der Fetisch eigentlich der Altar einer Gottheit ist, die als Geist meist ausserhalb des Fetischs wohnt & nur bei gewissen Gelegenheiten sozusagen in den Altar gebannt wird."
