"On the road from San Gabriel to Lake Vineyard"--text, handwritten on negative. Title transcribed from negative; date and location supplied by cataloger based on caption from the same image reproduced in San Gabriel by Richard J. Arnold (Arcadia Publishing, 2013), page 36. Lake Vineyard was a property owned by former Los Angeles mayor Benjamin Davis Wilson, chiefly in present-day San Marino.
