Description
Mortimer begins the interview discussing how people make contact, how they share thoughts, feelings, and experiences with each other and the importance of the art of conversation, of speaking and listening well, to connecting people. For the majority of the interview, Mortimer discusses the numerous rules governing the art of conversation contained in his book and the importance of being a good listener before one can be a good conversationalist. Mortimer also discusses his belief that the Socratic method should be the base format for our educational system because it promotes the art of conversation.
