Tourists view Badwater in Death Valley from their stopped car. It is a short drive from Furnace Creek Inn. Badwater is at the lowest point in the Western hemisphere at 280 feet below sea level. The pool has animal and plant life, including the Badwater snail. In summer it is typical for the temperature to reach 120 degrees during the day. Mountains can be seen in the distance.
