Photograph was edited for publication purposes Theme winner No. 1 - Mrs. June Sultan (pictured), of 14032 Hartsook St., Sherman Oaks, happily continues at her hobby, scoring music, after learning that the Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival has recognized her as the true winner of its contest for a theme for the 1963 fair, scheduled for Aug. 29 through Labor Day at the Lancaster fairgrounds. By error, Paul Hines, 15, of Sepulveda, was awarded the prize for his theme, "Fair for All," though by coincidence, he submitted it 10 days later than Mrs. Sultan. Both thought of the same words, based on a brotherhood concept suggested by the fair's directors in announcing the contest. The directors have declared both winners. Photograph dated July 31, 1963.
