Photograph caption dated February 25, 1965 reads, "Police remove body of John S. Grudt of Sherman Oaks from his car after he was shot dead by police at Western Avenue and Santa Monica Freeway." The article partially reads, "Grudt was reportedly shot after he tried to run down two plainclothes officers who were on foot."
