Description
Pictured in 1960 are True-Time Watch Repair at 1128 Seventh St., the Equipoise Card Club at 1126 Seventh St., and the Marshall Hotel at 1122 Seventh St. With a history dating back to the 1930s, the Equipoise, originally located at 415 K St., was – at one time – Sacramento’s premier card room and horse-betting parlor. Named after an actual racehorse, its reputation drew card players from around the nation. The Equipoise also contained a restaurant and bar. The five-story Marshall was built in 1911.
