Description
Harold Leavitt and Jean Lipman-Blumen present concepts from their book “Hot Groups: Seeding Them, Feeding Them, and Using Them to Ignite your Organization.” They explain that many corporations in their attempt to make innovative products and services have focused on the idea of building teams. In some instances these teams go on to achieve remarkable results and thus become members of a “hot group.” Leavitt and Lipman-Blumen go on to give examples of hot groups and address such issues as how to provide the type of leadership required by such a group, how to encourage new hot groups, and how to cope with an overheated hot group.
