Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on December 11, 1975 states: "Boats moored at Brown's Ravine Marina on Folsom Lake are sitting in water that is becoming shallower and shallower. Currently, because of an absence of winter rains usually here by this time of year, the marina has only about 8 feet of water. By next Monday that may drop another 3 feet because of releases from Nimbus Dam into the American River needed to protect the salmon hatch. Observers say that if rain does not come soon, boats and slips could begin settling into the basin's muddy bottom. During the summer just past, the water level was at a point near where the boy and his dog are standing in the foreground of the photo above."
