Exterior view of the sprawling Victorian mansion built for Thaddeus Lowe, with a five-story observatory tower with a domed roof, in Pasadena, California. A manicured lawn and landscaping in the foreground.
Title transcribed from back of photo. Date approximated by cataloger based on years of similar images of the house in the Harold A. Parker Collection (see photCL 402 (2573, 7626)). Photographer's imprint stamped on back. Also written in pencil on back: "Pasadena Pioneers Historic Houses, Private. / Elegant Mansion of Other Days / afterwards residence of Mrs. Aldolphus Busch / on South Orange Grove Avenue." Stamped on front: "Pasadena Public Library." Tower was built as an observatory for Mr. Lowe.
