Description
Written on verso: "Jul Aug 41; Main Reading Room, Library 1941; Shows painting of Aurora (a copy of one by Guido Reni, fresco in Respigliosi Palace in Rome) gift of senior classes about 1907-1910." Photograph also shows students are studying at tables with card catalogs to the right.
According to the December 1905 edition of the Normal School Pennant, the Aurora painting cost $250.00 and the senior gift was started with $50.00 from the 1905 June graduating class with other graduating classes adding their share so the painting could be acquired.
Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 8-bit Grayscale. Auto Level image processing applied and compressed into JPEG format using Photoshop CS3.
