Description
Photograph of a northward view of Spring Street during a Memorial Day Parade, ca.1915. A colorguard composed of six women in light dresses and four men is in the foreground at center. They are holding two American flags and an unidentified banner. A large marching band is behind them at right. The sides of the street are lined with dense crowds of onlookers. There is a large building with Romanesque columns at left, and a row of small shops adjoins it. In the background, three tall skyscrapers loom over the scene below. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Co-operative Land & Trust Co.", "Proven farming lands", "5th", and "Restaurant".
