Photograph caption dated August 29, 1963 reads, "Warren M. Dorn, chairman of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, places a tiara on the head of Charlene Schoenick, Miss Los Angeles County, in ceremonies during the board's meeting Tuesday when Miss Schoenick, a 19-year-old Citrus College student from Glendora, and her court were introduced to the supervisors. She is scheduled to enter the Maid of California contest at the Sacramento State Fair this weekend."
