Description
Photograph of street grading in Fresno, 1906. To the left of center, six men stand in a row looking towards the viewer while lightly colored tents sit in a group on the hillside behind them. A narrow but long building that appears to be a trailer stands behind the tents. Two rows of horses stand at a trough from the center to the right with heads down in the wooden creation. Rolling hills with trees and houses are visible in the background to the right. Written on back of photoprint: "Uncle George T. McLain street grading outfit, Fresno scraper and cook house on wheels, 1906. I was with him 1910-11-12-13. -- George E. Spain (or Spam?)"
