In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 34.
Large two story with a basement wooden building sits on a corner lot; entrance is up a set of stairs on the right side through an arched entry way set back from the corner wing of the building; in front are parked two model t's ; bare trees stand on sidewalk in front; the building is in a cross shape with a square tower rising above the entrance; tall rectangular windows on both the 1st & 2nd floors; on left a wall begins where the building ends.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"building erected in 1869. 'Old McKinley Primary School', was once used as a High School.Torn down in 1937."
