Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. 5 year old Cherylene Lee (Miller) performing "I'm Following You" with Gene Kelly. Cherylene, a long time actress and successful playwright, made her television debut at age 3 in 1956 in the "CBS Playhouse 90" production of the "Family Nobody Wanted." She also acted in the "King & I" and in various others shows and films.
