The San Fernando Drag Strip, in operation during the 1950s and 1960s, was located at Glenoaks Blvd. and Arroyo Avenue. Photograph caption dated August 2, 1956 reads, "Participating at kick-off ceremonies for ticket sale for Drag Strip Day are, from left [sic], Orlanda Munyon, Miss Panorama City; Herb Lightfoot, president of Panorama City Kiwanis Club, and Tom Indovina, local hot rodder. Proceeds of racing day Aug. 26 at San Fernando Drag Strip will go to Kiwanis Club underprivileged children project."
