Photograph caption dated September 15, 1958 reads, "One minute till take off - Pilot George W. Allen prepares to load sacks of first air mail abroad his plane 32 years ago as postmaster watches, center, with spectators. Huge watch around Allen's neck cost one dollar and enabled him to keep time on flight to San Francisco." See images 00156088 through 00156090 for all photos in this series.
