Photograph caption dated November 9, 1953 reads, "Recruiting into 311th Logistical Command, largest reserve unit in the West and outfit of many Valley reserves, is on upgrade since Valley Starlet Myrne Hanson was named official recruiting mascot. Her new title, in addition to being Miss U.S.A. of 1953, is Miss Log Command. She is recruiting Parker Babbage as Col. F. F. Mencaccy, commanding officer looks on."
