Photograph caption dated August 29, 1958 reads "Pfcs. Ric P. Conroy, left, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Conroy, 4628 Sancola Ave., and William K. Ackart Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Ackart, 6557 Goodland Ave., both of North Hollywood, have rifles checked as Los Angeles' Marine Corps Second 155 millimeter Gun Battalion begins record firing during training in 29 Palms today."
