Description
A lone Contra soldier walks on a field at El Porvenir Farm, located two kilometers from the Honduras-Nicaragua border in June 1983. He is holding his FN FAL assault rifle over his left shoulder. In the background there are a few dilapidated structures and the mountains of the Nicaraguan countryside. There also appears to be smoke coming from the structures. He is a member of the Nicaraguan Democratic Force (FDN), known informally as "Contras."
