Description
This January 1959 image shows three children reading at the Mabel Gillis Branch of the Sacramento County Library, located at 4001 60th St. The middle child wears a uniform for the nearby All Hallows Catholic School. The Gillis Branch opened on December 30, 1957, and was named in honor of the longtime State Librarian and Sacramento native.
