Description
View of a dump truck dumping rocks at dam construction site. Donor/Source: Ron Hanford (owned by Glenn Way) GMW 1490631. The dump truck (16) did not have a cab on it when it first started hauling rock from the quarry, but an insurance man had come up to the job site and insisted that the driver be protected from the obvious danger of the rock being loaded into the bed of the truck by the steam shovels at the quarry. The date of this sequence (GMW 147, 148, 149) is a guess, based on the scanty show on the mountains. GMW feels that much of the dam had been completed by January of 1927, but there was more show at that time. GMW was at the job site to repair the air compressor motors. Audio Tape #13B-395.
