Description
Photograph of the exterior of the Los Cerritos Ranch House, Long Beach, ca.1890. A man in a horse-drawn carriage stands parked along the dirt path that extends across the frame in front of the two adobe houses and the wooden barn of the ranch house, built in 1844 by John Temple. The barn is pictured at left, two-stories high, followed by the long, wooden-roofed adobes to the left, which are losing their spackle. A third long adobe can be seen running perpendicular behind them. A field is visible in the foreground. A caption underneath the image identifies the ranch and year.
