Photograph was edited for publication purposes. San Fernando Valley State College is now California State University Northridge. Photograph caption dated December 24, 1963 reads Pi Kappa Tau, a fraternity at San Fernando Valley State College, decided 24 needy children, 7 to 12 years old, should have something to smile about during Christmas, 1963. On Sunday the fraternity entertained the children at a turkey dinner and Christmas party. There were presents for all. Left, Evelyn Hurtado's joyous face expresses the pleasure she's experiencing in opening her gift.
