Description
Used in the Exhibit: Play by Play - A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1889-1989
After winning the NCAA singles title as a freshman at UCLA, Jimmy Connors turned pro and won five U.S. Open and two Wimbledon crowns. A scrappy, relentless competitor, he used an unorthodox two-handed backhand to complement his uncanny service return and his "bad boy" theatrics.
