Harold Stein was taking a walk in his neighborhood one early Sunday morning when a sports car, driven by Thomas Alexander Orchard, collided with another car then burst into flames. Stein saved Orchard's life when he pulled Orchard from the burning car. Photograph caption dated August 20, 1959 reads, "Rescuer. Stockbroker Harold Stein, 46, of Daniel Reeves & Co., Sherman Oaks, pauses from duties to tell how he pulled Thomas Orchard of North Hollywood from burning sports car early Sunday morning."
