Description
A woman wears a morning walking dress from 1813. The woman wears a white dress with a long, red pelisse coat. The collar and edges of the pelisse are lined with white fur with black spots, probably ermine. The collar of her dress is visible from under her pelisse. She wears a pink ribbon at the waist, which is tied in a bow over the pelisse. She wears red walking boots and carries a maroon handbag around her left wrist. She wears beige gloves and a red bonnet. The brim of the bonnet is black netting with pink flowers decorating the sides and a pink bow at the back. She wears a white cap under the hat with a lace ruffle that covers her ears and her forehead. She sits on a large, carved, stone bench with her legs crossed. There is a green book on the bench next to her. She looks to the right. The contributor has written "1/3" in the bottom right hand corner of the plate.
