Original photograph has several small stains. Photograph caption dated January 1, 1960 reads "Pioneer Spirit which marked early days in California is depicted by Glendale entry in Rose Parade. Float won governor's trophy. Float shows prospector panning for gold against background of Sierra Nevada Mountain sunrise which lights cascading waterfall. California bears are prominent on float, together with covered wagon bearing famed motto, 'California or Bust,' and pulled by two oxen.
