Photograph was edited for publication purposes The Gra-Y Club is part of the "four fronts" program developed by the YMCA which grew out of the Hi-Y Club created to help promote Christian character in high school boys through emphasis in speech skills, sportsmanship and scholastic achievement. The "four fronts" program included the Hi-Y Club for high school boys, Jr. Hi-Y Club for middle school children, Tri Hi-Y Club for girls, and the Gra-Y Club for grade school children. Photograph caption dated March 27, 1963 reads, "Members of the West Valley YMCA Gra-Y basketball team, the Flying Tigers, are shown as they gathered in Encino to be honored by their parents for winning their league championship.
