Photograph of a Franciscan priest studying a book while seated in one of the long exterior corridors of Mission Santa Barbara, ca.1898-1900. The priest can be seen seated with his head bowed on a bench at left near one of the many windows which are covered with wooden balusters. Another bench is visible further up. The floor is tiled or cobbled. A wooden balustrade runs between the square columns supporting the arches supporting the roof of the corridor. A few trees are visible through some of the arches.
