Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph article dated October 26, 1963 partially reads, "Adlai Stevenson arrived in Los Angeles today and labeled a rowdy anti-United Nations demonstration Thursday night in Dallas as ‘unfortunate.’ Stevenson, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., was hit on the head with a sign and spat on after a United Nations Day speech last night. Except for the incident, the ambassador said his Dallas reception offered ‘one of the warmest and most enthusiastic responses he has received anywhere in the world.’”
