Description
Mine Hill rose above Spanishtown and Englishtown at New Almaden. At center is the Main Planilla; to the right is the dump in Deep Gulch. The Planilla was a large wooden shed with open sides in which the ore was sorted. Photo mounted by corner mounts on red board. Typewritten label below photo on front of board: "Mine Hill in the 1870's." On back of photo: Handwritten in blue ink: "The Planilla & Mine Hill 1870's. New Almaden Quicksilver Mines, Calif. Please credit New Almaden Historical Society."
