V1p387a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 387 top. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text printed under photo: "Snow-storm February 5, 1887. San Francisco, Cal. Intersection of Oak and Pierce Sts. Buena Vista Park in background. Recorded depth 7 inches" along with "Page St., Pierce St., Oak St." in their respective places. Written underneath: "x Marks the South-west corner of Pierce and Oak Streets [with an x marking the appropriate spot on the photo]." View looks southwest toward Buena Vista Park with the corner of Oak and Pierce in the foreground. Rows of houses have been built in this area although vacant lots are still numerous. The density of the houses thins noticeably in the distance around Divisadero Street. There are none at all south of Waller to the left. Corona Heights is at the extreme left. Everything is blanketed with snow. A snow trivia question from the January 13, 1922 "San Francisco Call" is pasted over the top.
