Photograph caption dated June 6, 1955 reads "Dr. W. H. Armstrong, center, pathologist for new poultry pathology laboratory on fairgrounds confers with Donovan Martin, left, field supervisor and John H. Mall, technologist, right, in front of new laboratory. Some 400 Antelope Valley ranchers now produce 150,000 turkeys and eight million chickens annually. Their industry now is competing strongly with alfalfa interests."
