Description
Annotation translation: "Starved because of ignorance. This boy had no appetite after suffering from dysentery, and starved gradually, because heathen parents may not force their children to eat. 'He doesn't want to!' He was brought to hospital for a short time only when he was already dying. In this way many children die each year." Annotation: "Verhungert durch Unverstand. Ein Knabe, der nach einer Dysenerie keinen Appetit mehr hatte, verhungerte langsam, weil die heidnischen Eltern ihre Kinder nicht zum Essen zwingen dürfen. 'Er will halt nicht!' Erst sterbend wurde er wieder ins Spital gebracht für kurze Zeit. So sterben jährlich viele Kinder." Stamped: "Museum der Basler Mission Basel, Missionsstrasse 21."
