Probable date based on general show history; newspaper advertisements featured Phelps with the Van Osten & Day Concert Company, under the management of Charles Day in December 1890 (“Van Osten & Day Grand Concert Co. Charles E. Day, Manager … Miss Inez Mecusker … Miss Laura B. Phelps … Mr. Thomas D. Van Osten … Donald Franck …" [Advertisement in the Clinton Courier, 4 December 1890, page 1]). "Shober / Carqueville / Chicago / 1216"--text, bottom right. "'The eminent violin / virtuoso. -- Miss Phelps, / in the judgement of / eminent New York / musicians, is to be the / Camilla Urso / of the near future.' / (New York World)"--text, center left.
