Description
Photo shows the Lafayette Park statue, "The Power of Water," which has just been dedicated. The work, which stands at the junction of Hoover Street and Lafayette Park Place, is by Henry Lion, who did the doors of the city hall and the Felipe de Neve statue in Plaza Park. It consists of a rectangular pool with a 12-foot figure standing on a pedestal. The front wall shows figures in bas-relief drinking from a stream. It symbolizes how dependent all life is upon water. Photo dated: November 29, 1934.
