Description
Debris litters the ground around San Jose High School. The school suffered massive damage from the 1906 earthquake. Walls fell over and the roof collapsed into the center of the building. If the earthquake had happened later in the day when school was in session the loss of life would have been horrific. Six months after the quake San Jose voters approved a bond measure to rebuild the high school.
