Description
Photographic portrait of Captain Quasula, a Walapai Indian, Kingman, Arizona, ca.1901. He can be seen from the knees up facing slightly to the left. Behind him hang two Indian blankets, both striped. One blanket has horizontal stripes, while the other has vertical stripes. He is standing tall with a striped blanket draped across his left shoulder and around his torso. Under the blanket he wears a light striped shirt with a patterned bandana tied around his throat. His right arm and shoulder are not covered by the blanket. His dark hair is parted in the middle, held by a bandana tied around his forehead, and hangs to his shoulders.
