Description
The first radio telephone transmitting and receiving set was installed on Commodore Huntington's Yacht "Thelma" at Put-in-Bay, Ohio in 1907, by Lee de Forest, to report the yacht races that summer. On front of photo: "The first craft in the world to be equipped with a wireless telephone. [signed] Lee de Forest, July 1907. Compliments of W. R. Huntington." Lee de Forest second from right. de Forest's chief assistant, Frank Butler, and his bride are also on board.
