Photograph was edited for publication purposes Los Angeles County was officially declared a disaster area on July 21, 1960 as up to six fires raged out of control, including fires in Sunland-Tujunga, San Dimas Canyon, San Gabriel Canyon, Big Pines, and Magic Mountain. Photograph caption dated July 21, 1960 reads, "Home in Tujunga is destroyed in ball of fire during foothill area fire.
