Title supplied by cataloger. Looking northeast across the busy intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, towards the Equitable Building and the iconic Pantages Theatre. To the west of the theater are Louque's Gowns, the Frolic Room, Roger's Liquors, a Foster and Kleiser billboard with a clock promoting Chevrolet automobiles, Harry Skepner's pharmacy, and a California Bank branch; to the east of the theater (right of center) is the A.E. England Pontiac dealership. The date handwritten written on the negative is September 20, 1948, however the programming advertised on the marquee of the Pantages Theatre of the Alfred Hitchcock film "Notorious" and a Donald Duck animated short places the photograph in 1946.
