Photograph of ceremony dedicating the plaque naming and commemorating Pam’s Blue Ridge after Pamela Prentice Ettinger. Ettinger lived in Fairfax and was one of 12 children of the family that founded the publishing house Prentice-Hall. In 1974, at the age of 24, she was killed in an automobile accident after visiting her twin sister in Woodside. Her family contributed $80,000 to the effort to buy a 175-acre parcel in the Cascade Canyon Open Space Preserve. A ceremony honoring the Ettinger’s dedication of the ridge was held on March 23, 1975.
