Photograph caption dated January 24, 1989 reads, "Investigators examine wreckage of single-engine Grumman AA5-A found yesterday at Lopez Canyon Landfill in San Fernando Valley foothills. The body of pilot Merlin Glass, 65, was found in the plane. Glass, due to retire Friday from Lockheed Corp. in Burbank, commuted by air on weekends to San Jacinto and was flying to Pacoima when he crashed."
